Bill Clinton: Obama supporters think they are better

"The great divide in this country is not by race or even income, it's by those who think they are better than everyone else and think they should play by a different set of rules," he said in Clarksburg. "In West Virginia and Arkansas, we know that when we see it."

Clinton said his wife's primary challenger has "got so much money and it's a different electorate. It's a little more upscale and modern ... than those poor people in Texas and Ohio." In Clarksburg, Clinton contrasted his wife's appeal to working-class people with the elitists he says support Obama. He made the same comparison two months when he last campaigned in West Virginia, calling his wife's critics in the party "glitterati" and "elites.

           Idaho Democrats called Clinton's comments an insult. They said the state party is making a comeback - after suffering setbacks during Clinton's two terms in office.

          "If Bill Clinton had done for elk in Idaho everything he did for Democrats, we'd have far fewer elk," said Idaho Democratic Party Chairman Keith Roark - an uncommitted superdelegate - Wednesday morning.

  Why would someone who has used their talents and ambitions to get a great education and go far in life contribute to the "uneducated, working class folk are the real americans" notion?

  We already have a crisis in our schools of boys constantly facing pressure to be no better than average.  We don't need former Presidents reinforcing the idea that 'real men' don't need educations.

  How sad that one of the most supported campaigns in Democratic Party history is disparaging those who have attained social mobility through education at a time that lack of education is more damaging to one's life prospects than ever before.
