Freedom: Not just another word for nothing left to lose!

I read once, "funny how people get peaceful once dead".

If our Congress' capitulation to Bush is supposed to somehow sate his thirst for total power over us, and if by surrendering or acquiescing to his demands we are to believe that by scrapping the 4th Amendment he will not make any more assaults against our Constitution, then we are truly dead. Surrender equates to the death of our republic-and us, just a surely and as quickly as standing in front of a firing squad.

And all the rationalizing away of the consequences of the FISA capitulation and saying, "we'll get him next year" when Obama takes office is a copout, and well, it's simply living in a dream world or alternate reality. It shows a total ignorance of the lessons of past history. Follow my rant under the fold...

No despot or dictator has ever voluntarily given his power back to his countrymen, once he has achieved total power over them. None!

And before anyone invokes "pre-9/11 mindset" here let me remind everyone, Bush was illegally & warrantlessly wiretapping us all BEFORE 9/11, and even arrogantly admitted as much on several different occasions. So if he did it before 9/11, what vile purpose did he have in mind, if not to throw America into the pit of totalitariansim and police state? This is why retroactive immunity overthrows the scales of justice. Now we may never know the extent of his crimes against our republic!

I had hoped our Dems would've just walked out before final passage of the "new and improved" FISA! And the question burning in my mind, still to this day is why? Why didn't they just walk away from the Constitution's execution?

What would've happened to them if they all had simply walked out of the House and Senate chambers, then? Would Bush have them all arrested? He's a tyrant, a proven murderer, and a war criminal, but he wouldn't dare do it himself, especially with the whole country watching him, would he? Would he have them all shot? No-not yet, anyway.

So what did they have to lose by showing the people they had the courage to stand for the Constitution, the rule of law that says no one is above the law, and the American people? Would Bush say they were "weak on terror"? He's done that for years, anyway. Would he call them "traitors"? He already does that, too.

You see, to me it's not that they just voted with the lameduck Bush or against the lameduck Bush at all. They voted FOR the monied interests & corporate immunity. FOR tyranny. FOR scrapping the rule of law. FOR overthrowing the Constitution. FOR police state!

And little did they know, or they most certainly had to know, that by giving the telecoms retroactive immunity, they also gave Bush an unconditional pardon at the same time!
It's not a simple matter either that they can just wish away, or by the wringing of their hands, they can explain it all away. It's that they didn't even cry for our help-or yell stop before they hiked-up their skirts!

By walking out they would've shown guts, a symbolic gesture for sure because FISA might've still gotten passed if there still remained present a sufficient quorum of capitulators present, but they never knew that by at least attempting to show the rest of the world and us that they had THE WILL to stop him, if not the means.

These police state-enablers instead showed their true colors & intentions all along. They betrayed us into the hands of these despots, this traitorous rabble, when they could have at the very least walked out of the Constitution's execution! And such a bloody sight to see it was, too!

And I will never again look at them in the same light. NEVER! I feel so violated today, just as violated as if it all had just happened. As a result, I decided 3 nights ago to retire from political activism, a labor of love being a Dem activist for over the past 40 years, since I first entered politics in 1968 supporting Bobby Kennedy as a member of the Young Democrats at the age of 15.

If they want to turn America into a police state, well, they can do it without my blessings. Indeed, they can do it over my dead body! I'm like a bloodhound, an elephant, and I have a wheelbarrow full of balls! But I can't do it alone! Once on the scent, I never give-up until I find the truth, I never forget who's lying which is easy because a liar never says the same story twice, and I don't fear death because I've never committed murder or high treason against my country.

A coward dies a thousand times before he tastes the blade-a brave man only once.

A coward gets others to die for him, because he's too afraid to fight the fight himself for what he believes. It's easy to understand. We'll never win the hearts and minds of the Iraqis for the same reason Bush and his traitors will never prevail over us, the true patriots who still love freedom. It's a matter of mind over matter.

You can kill the body, but you can't kill a man's yearning to remain free. And I would rather die fighting as a free man than to live a 1000 lifetimes in the bonds and shackles of slavery. Passive resistance worked for MLK, at least until they killed him, but look who really won in the end!

Tyranny isn't my master until I agree and give it supremacy over my mind. Kos wrote a post once about ending the Iraq war within ourselves, about simply saying in your mind, and paraphrasing John Lennon's words: "the war is over". For me, the war has just begun! And saving this republic from the likes of evil men like Bush, requires constant vigilance.

We who are not Kings must live and die by these same laws, this same Constitution.

George W. Bush is not a King, he's not our King, and neither are we his subjects. He has nullified our presumption of innocence. If then, we are not all presumed innocent until proven guilty, then that means we are all presumed guilty until proven innocent, and he has therefore by his acts of treason nullified our citizenships. We are no longer citizens but his subjects. We are longer citizens but slaves. And if we are now slaves, I would rather die as free men now than to live 1000 lifetimes in the shackles and chains in slavery!

Bush has resurrected the dead bones of monarchy, and with his every act of treachery and high treason, done all but to disinter the bones of our forefathers, hanging them all in the Rose Garden! No, I say this tyranny cannot stand! It must not stand! IT. SHALL. NOT. STAND!

I live only for the day I see him and all of his cohorts and congressional enablers standing tall in front of a war crimes tribunal all dressed-up in his and their orange jumpsuits. And when Bush proclaims his innocence, and his enablers say, "we were just following orders", I want to see all of the color go out of his and their faces when the judge reads the same verdict that was read to the war criminals at Tokyo and Nuremberg! "We hereby find the defendents guilty of the aforementioned criminal indictment of the war crimes and crimes against humanity to wit: 1.4 million dead Iraqis, and do hereby sentence you to death by hanging until you are dead, dead ,dead. May almighty God have mercy upon your souls". That's what I want, the same judgement he gave to the other murdering bastard, Saddam Hussein.

Why does Bush act like a buffoon overseas, as one with nothing to be afraid of, like someone who just got away with murder? And he can do a hell of a lot more damage in his remaining 4,500+ hours left in office.

I mean he's already, with the help of our yellow-bellied, belly-crawling, subservient, complicit, tyranny-enabling congress, done more damage to our nation, our civil liberties, and our Constitution than a 100 9/11's could have done. If I didn't know better, I'd swear he thinks we're the terrorists.

He's enriched the war profiteers and every congressional district. The rich, Big Oil, and the corporatists have their windfall tax breaks. He's waged an aggressive war for the past 5 years with impunity, and hasn't had to answer for any of his lies, murders, tortures, or war crimes & crimes against humanity he committed in our names. That's why he acts like an ass or a buffoon overseas! He thinks he got away with everything, so what has he got to lose?

So what's left for him to accomplish in his over 4,500 hours left in office? Short of directly attacking Iran before he leaves office, the icing on the cake would be if the terrorists get a lucky shot and he's able to declare martial law, suspend the Constitution, and the elections and declaring himself absolute dictator for the duration of the "national emergency". Maybe he's as tired of us as we're as tired of him. Maybe he wants to retire to that 100,000 acre ranch he bought in Paraguay in 2005. I hope he does, retire that is.

Something to consider, however, no despot or dictator in the world's history has ever voluntarily given back to the people the power he usurped or seized from those same people. I wouldn't be counting my chickens until I actually see him getting on that Air Force One for the last time as our sitting president. There's not enough trust in the world. And I wouldn't put anything past this megalomaniacal, sociopathic, murdering liar.

The truth is like a venus fly trap. It's sitting there just waiting for the fly to come along and then "snap"! There's no such thing as a perfect crime or a perfect criminal. Bush and his crime family are winning right now, but one day "snap"! The truth will out.

Everything moves like a pendulum. Sooner or later that pendulum has to swing back the other way. It's only a matter of time, but Bush can inflict a hell of a lot of more damage on America until January. I don't know if we have the luxury of time. That's why I've been begging Congress to impeach them all. But I'm only one person. I can't make them stand-up for their oaths of office. I can't make them do what they know in their hearts the one thing they must do if they want to save what's left of the Constitution and America.

It's almost as if they have resigned us to the fate of being subjects or slaves to this King. They don't understand, there's people who would rather die free men than live a thousand years in chains!

I've been blessed with a keen eye. Studied intricate details my whole life that others seem to ignore, or they pass by. To put it in a nutshell without posting my bio here, I see FEAR, a panic-driven fear in all of them in varying degrees, as if they're afraid he's going to do something terrible to this nation if they don't comply with his orders. Call me a crazy, paranoid lunatic, but I swear, if I didn't know better he's holding a threat over their heads and it's not just "go to your room, no tv, no dessert for you", either.

I want to know what is it about this 28% lameduck Bush that scares them so much? What scares them so much that it causes them to go against every great principle that this nation was founded upon? I want to know if he threatened them with the Sampson doctrine, of bringing this whole nation down around him if we dare to stop him? Inquiring minds would like to know.

I'm checking my capitulation check-list:
...the Constitution. Check.
...the Bill of Rights. Check.
...Holding no impeachment hearings or prosecuting Bush and his minions for his aggressive war, war crimes, war profiteering, and crimes against humanity. Check.
...Torture. Check.
...Extraordinary rendition. Check.
...My presumption of innocence. Check.
...My citizenship. Check.

To be updated as necessary and as His Majesty the King dictates the rest of his surrender terms to his subjects. Oh, and one other thing I need from Bush. Please your Majesty, tell me which internment camp you're sending me to, for opposing your tyranny for all these many years since you first stole the presidency, so I can fill-out my forwarding address at the Post Office. Not that it matters. And not that you haven't already opened and read all of my emails and snail mails for me, by the time you attack Iran and declare martial law and get rid of all us pesky traitors who dared to oppose you.

I promise, on my honor as a Lt. General's son, and as a former USArmy M60A1 tank crewman that I intend to go peacefully and quietly-by your command. Bet.
