Liveblog: Barack Obama in Colorado Springs

We're liveblogging Barack Obama's policy speech on national service in Colorado Springs -- smack in the backyard of James Dobson and Focus on the Family who tried to pick a fight with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee last week.

  Dobson and all those creeps can't believe Obama is able to do this.  

  I can't believe people are confused or losing faith because Obama talks about supporting 'faith based initiatives.'  The relationship will function differently under an Obama administration than with Bush.  It will actually help people.  And done right, it's totally kosher with the Constitution.  

  And he is going to drink the GOP's milkshake with every single evangelical voter who flips.  

  This is a very religious country whether we like it or not (I don't, personally) and we have a progressive candidate who knows how to talk to the religious folks and help them see the places where our values and interests actually meet.  

  Go get 'em Barack.

•  I hope Obama can get through to a

  few locals. I  hear C.S. used to be a great town but anymore it seems like suburban Houston. Miles and miles of shopping malls and big boxes and cheap Pulte homes fanning all across the foothills, all of which look to have a 10-year shelf life. P and Z needs a good smack in the head.
