"Obama dazzles over 200,000 in Berlin"

Anyone who has seen the photos of Obama's speech is left wondering - how in the world do CNN and MSNBC keep guestimating the numbers at 'around 100,000'?

It looks like a heck of a lot more than that to me.

So I did a quick Google search for articles about Obama's speech in German newspapers... and guess what?

The Link, which bills itself as a German newspaper in English counts a couple more Obama fans than that:

Obama dazzles over 200,000 in Berlin

Over 200,000 jubilant Barack Obama supporters shut down the centre of Berlin on Thursday evening to listen to the US presidential candidate give a major foreign policy speech.

People from all walks of life streamed to the German capital’s Victory Column memorial at the heart of the city’s Tiergarten park hoping to glimpse of the popular US senator from Illinois.

"Thank you to the citizens of Berlin and to the people of Germany," Obama told the crowd to wild applause. "Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen – a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world."

As the sun set on the German capital, Berliners listened intently to Obama speak of the common challenges facing Europe and America in the 21st century.

Imagine that.
