Breaking news, 1787: Convention goers capitulate, keep same government.

The members of the Constitutional Convention have decided to give in and end their bid to create a Constitution in the new sovereign country.
This news comes just a little while after they bravely fought to form a free nation and make its own laws.
Reports say that the people just decided it was too tedious. They didn't really need legislation enforced anyway. It's also been suggested that the people do not want to honor national obligations.
There's no word on how anyone plans to run the government or even protect its people without the basic things an actual congress could provide. There's no guarantee that any rights will be acknowledged on a federal level, indeed there's proof that keeping these articles will make states independent of each other, and prevent federal rights from even existing.
A source that wishes to remain unnamed, but was a convention attendee, told me, "We want to keep our powder dry here. We are in a war with foreigners in a small country across the ocean, and we can't afford to make these drastic decisions in the middle of it. I admit that a constitution would help us, but we really just can't go there right now. It's off the table."
Critics are asserting that these people decided to forgo a constitution because they didn't want to pay taxes. The wealthy among them, a small group to be sure, have been lobbying to keep taxes out of any kind of power structure.
Says another source, "These people are our constituents. They're the ones giving us money. If we don't do what they want and refuse taxes, we'll be broke."
When asked if anyone else supports this new plan, this source replied, "Uh... well, not... exactly. But they'll be happy with it! It doesn't take anything away from them personally - I mean, hell, if they're poor, they're not even paying taxes, right? It doesn't hurt them."
Still no news on any attempts to challenge this idea.
