I made a comment on another persons post and it has generated some interest so I will try to add a lil to it. Today Bushed signedThe Deficit Reduction Act. In section 5101 it states that Medicare will now only pay for either 36 months of Oxygen rental equipment ( I assume with full service) or pay for 13 months and then the patient owns the machine. Details Below. Rimjob, my apoligy for the small hijack. I had no idea your post would take off like it has.
Sounds like a good idea to won the machine right ? Maybe for some, but there is no mention of the monthly service done by provider, no mention of backup tanks or replacement parts. Raincrow on 1/26 had a very detailed post on this.

Most of this applys to Oxygen concentrator machines that pretty much allows many people to live comfortably at home. These Machines are subject to many forms of malfunction. Anyone who has had to pay for service call from anyone lately, know how exp. this is. Also, I am heard the providers have no intenton of parting wtih their machines . This just scares the hell out of me since I am a fulltime caregiver to someone who uses one of these and is very close to my heart. Thoses needing more facts than this should read the above post by Raincrow.
