McCain gets called out...by Paris Hilton's MOM!

This is funny.

When asked what she thought about McCain's sad excuse for political discourse, this is what Paris Hilton's mother had to say:

It is a complete waste of the money John McCain's contributors have donated to his campaign.

It is a complete waste of the country's time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs.

And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States.

[As an aside, isn't getting called "frivolous" by Paris' mom a bit like being called "trashy" by Britney Spears?]

Of course, we should probably dismiss this; after all, why should anyone care what Paris' mom has to say about politics, right?

Well, that would be the case...except she and her husband are McCain donors!

Yup--McCain just got called out, in public, by a prominent donor for, basically, being a petty and small-minded man.  Ouch.

    It's always good news when a prominent backer of your opponent withdraws support especially if it's over a bone-headed mistake like insulting one of their children. The Hiltons are very wealthy and very well connected. They can have an impact on McCain's campaign.

    That being said they'll probably never write a check to Obama, but they may help Barr, who in turn will siphon votes from McCain.

    Interestingly enough and just as stupid, Britney Spears is also a supporter of Republicans, so the McCain campaign didn't just malign one supporter and her family, but two! The really funny thing is while the Hiltons are smart enough to realize it, Britney Spears and her family apparently are not...

      The McCain campaign used her simply because most Americans are repulsed by her (likewise Ms. Spears) and in the infantile minds of the McCain campaign, they thought they could link that repulsion to Obama.

      Paris Hilton is, and should be, a non-issue. Why the Huffington Post felt compelled to give her apparently equally vapid mother a forum is an editorial decision that I don't understand.
