The dKos community is organizing a national convention. See the dKosopedia entry on
The dKos National Convention for more background information. Based on the poll in
this diary there will be at least 200 people attending.
- What do you want out of a dKos community convention?
- What would make it more likely that you attended?
- What would you like avoided?
Here's some possible answers.
- Socialize
- Network in preparation for running for office
- Learn technical and organizing skills to create a blog community
- Learn mechanics of politics (run for office, start a PAC or 527, etc)
- Advocate to change the direction of the Democratic Party (organizing strategies or issues)
Since the dKos community raised over $500K there's gonna be fundraisers looking to shake the tree. What rules should be applied to candidates, non-profits, causes, etc. that want to tap into the community?
