I am inspired by Kos' essay today.
This is where we're going. Lets be frank. You substitute the Bushco and a few thousand CEO's for the Waltons, the Dems for the existing small businesses, and the American people for the Walmart employees, and it really couldn't be a much closer analogy.
IT GETS UGLY BELOW THE FOLD
- It's a business and its about enriching a family/tiny group.
- employees are a commodity
- give the employees a stirring pep talk every day instead of pay raises
- The business doesn't help poor people; its employees are expected to give their time and money to charity.
- sometimes we lock people in the building; so what?
- why should employee health have anything to do with our business?
- lip service only for equal pay/rights for women; they are basically just earning pin money anyway.
- using some company funds for personal use is an expected perk for managers
- whistleblowers get fired and smeared
- product quality is minimized
- the 'environment' is the drainage ditch around our parking lot
- labor unions deserve to have their shops closed
- the business can go anywhere in the world and bully anybody
- we know what should and shouldn't be read or seen, so we will stock only what we approve of.
- we don't see the need to have competing businesses in town.
- so far its working great..only a few loudmouths on dKos have figured us out.
- we're working on eliminating these darned elections and public oversight.
- those aren't lies, that's advertising; gimme a break.
Tell me I'm wrong; tell me these motherf^ckers aren't using each other's playbooks....
