Mr. November is a new Web comic, created in the bold visual tradition of Alien Loves Predator and Robot Chicken. It uses the adventures of a semi-inexplicably still breathing John Lennon as a jumping off point to explore the lighter side of America's contemporary political climate.
Established in August of 2008, Mr. November is the brain-child of Nate Campbell and Rima Warren. After over-dosing on The Colbert Report and seminal Web comics like XKCD, they decided to create a cartoon of their own to comment on the insanity of the world around them.
Due to a lack of skill with pen and pencil they chose to use toys and pictures as their primary medium and settled upon a figure of John Lennon to be their lead character, in part because of his role as one of the first prominent musicians to proudly straddle the line between artistry and punditry. The title "Mr. November" is borrowed from a song by indie band the National, whose song of that name is about a messiah figure who promises not to "f*** over" the people who are counting on him.
The comic opens with John Lennon awaking during the months leading up to Obama's electoral victory, and continues through the present time. It now has upwards of 80 published strips and is worth checking out.
