I'm having a bit of a quandry here.
I have a newly rennovated room that no one's using...
Is it worth it trying to rent it out for Inauguration week?
Pros and cons over the fold.
Future Ms Canatheist and I have been working on our very old (106 yrs) home, and we've recently completed our first room renovation. It's not spectacular, bedrooms weren't big back in the day, but it's comfortable and painted light blue (because, of course, we're both democrats :P).
Pros: Money for further updates and repairs. Parking is no problem, we have tons of street parking in our little neighborhood. (Riverdale, MD for those who like to look things up).
Cons: Having to share space with strangers. Possibly cook them meals, etc. Having to clean up the house (currently, in decent shape, but still rough around the edges as we moved in this last July). Having to work and having to give our temporary tenants the keys to the house.
While I would love to give another Democratic couple a chance to see the inauguration, how would we go about screening people to make sure we got someone who was reliable, trustworthy, etc? Last thing we want is to come home and find out that all the china and silver are gone.
