On Sunday, I wrote a fairly long post about the new Progressive Change Campaign Committee which I and some other organizers are getting off the ground to help more progressives get elected. (Thanks to all who put it on the Recommended list!)
A big part of the PCCC is the idea that candidates waste a lot of money on consultants -- and that someone needs to help progressive candidates spend money wisely and implement best practices so they can win.
On Monday, I happened to be in the Hart Senate Office Building, and saw this sign proudly displayed in a Senate office window.
I couldn't help but think to myself that some consultant got paid a lot of money to tell a Senator, "You know what you need? A sign with both a fraction AND a percentile. Oh, and no fancy issue messaging. Simplicity is key."
I have no idea if this was a Democratic or Republican office. But regardless, it's another reminder that the "experts" can be ridiculous.
Progressive candidates definitely deserve better. Want to help them get better? (Hint...hint...)
