My insight on a "Democrat's" view on Gay Marriage.
So, the reason we all believe Gays should have equal rights is the following:
Gays should be able to have the same rights as straight people because in a Religiously-tolerant America such people can not be barred from rights based on some one else’s moral standing and values.
So, let me ask all of you:
Why not legalize Prostitution? All drugs? Alcohol? Age limits on anything?
For example, I'm sure if we legalized prostitution there would only be a relatively few who practice it (just like gays), but lets say they want that right. It doesn't bar your or my pursuit of happiness. Why not, right? It's the same logic.
What about age limits on sex, drugs, or alcohol. What constitutes that an American is responsible for there own behavior, and who are you or I to tell them they cannot.
The same logic can be argued with almost any social issue in America, and if those who do take a side on a moral basis did not, then what constitutes a limit for anything?
UPDATE: I'm glad 90% don't have any kind of arguement. I'm glad I could be a spectacle to some of the most close-minded "Democrats" I've ever seen.
