Following the President Obama Election, I heard much talk about how President Obama’s calm, cool and charming demeanor will suffocate the comedians by disrupting their daily fodder that was so diligently provided to them by the Bush misadministration, for our entertainment.
To be honest, I wasn’t worried about the comedians. I was worried about myself, and some of my fellow Kossacks. I was worried about my own entertainment - our entertainment. Where would we get our political humor and entertainment from, if our comedians were to starve for materials? At one point, I almost went in to a depression thinking that Daily Show is going to end its run, shortly after the inauguration, as 80 to 90 percent of its materials came directly from the Bush misadministration.
But President Obama inspired me to be hopeful. Although, I spent many sleepless nights for not knowing where would we get our daily dose of entertainment from, once Obama is in the Whitehouse? Fortunately, I never went in to a full depression, as I kept hope alive!
However, I am happy to report to my fellow Kossacks that last night I slept like a baby, as I realized that I should have never worried about it in the first place. It was silly of me to be worried. It was my shortsightedness that nearly sent me in to a depression.
Last night I realized that just because Bush misadministration has left Washington it doesn’t mean that there aren’t other viable sources for our comedians to receive their daily fodder from.
I should have never doubted that conservatives, in general, and more importantly, morons like Limbaugh, Hannity, and O’Reilly will keep providing our comedians the kind of materials that will keep us laughing.
While I am thankful to the conservative morons for saving the Daily Show, and the likes, I must admit that it saddens me to see such hatred, bigotry and ignorance on national television.
Alas, there isn’t any hope for the conservatives to get their heads out of their asses to see the light of the day!
