I just got done watching this movie on LifeTime called "Prayers for Bobby" and I have to say I wish I could make EVERY hateful narrow-minded homophobic person who still thinks it's a choice to be gay, watch it!
Follow me below for more...
The movie is based on a true story, and it's about a young gay man named Bobby who commits suicide because his extremely religious family cannot accept him for being gay. His mother is the worst one, thinking she can "cure" her son by cramming religion down his throat.
I have to say that the movie really moved me because after the death of her son, this woman became quite an activist for gay and lesbian causes, and you can read about her and the movie right here.
LifeTime will be re-playing this movie Sunday night at 8pm Eastern time. If you can watch it, it's really worth it...or better yet, if you know a homophobic person who needs some enlightenment, please suggest they watch it.
(((HUGS))) to all my LGBT friends! That movie really made me see again that we still have a lot to do in regards to gay rights.
