Rumors have been flying for months regarding FL Senator Dan Gelber's run for US Senate. Many in South Florida have been anxiously chomping at the bit, just waiting for Gelber to throw his hat in the ring. Well, we're happy to hear that it looks like Tuesday will be the day
FL 2010 will shape up to become one of the most important races of the next election cycle. With Mel Martinez calling it quits, Jeb Bush taking the pass, and no Republican stepping up to the plate, the GOP Senate Seat could well be flipped from Red to Blue. Yo Kos, hope you're watching this one.
Dan Gelber is destined to become Florida's Greatest Senator.
Though few might know him outside of Southern Florida right now (as evidenced by a recent diary by brownsox), he is poised to be a powerhouse. The guy is a real heavy hitter. Although some early comparison have tried to inaccurately paint Gelber as an under-dog (such as recent diaries posted by Tally), nothing will prove further from the truth. Once Dan Gelber gets his campaign up and running, those Quinnipiac numbers are gonna look quite different.
Remember, once upon a time no one knew State Senator Barack Obama.
He's got the experienceand the where-with-all to look at issues in the big picture, and the eloquence and grace to convey his message. Plus, Dan Gelber has some pretty hefty Obama-Credentialsbehind him.
But, most importantly, he's got VISION.
