Green Bay Wisconsin:
Two small business employers are taking a voluntarily leave of absence in an effort to keep from having to lay off workers during the first quarter as a result of the current Economic crisis. ********* ******** General Manager of ********** ****** and *** ***** Assistant General Manager, announced in a posted memo to the entire staff that this decision was necessary as the hotel industry has taken a dramatic hit.
The ********** ****** hotel is one of thousands of small businesses throughout the state of Wisconsin who are on the verge of having to lay off workers , but these two employers are the first known to have made this type of sacrifice as it's usually the employees , and not the employers , who are the first to go.
"My managers are awesome and I am so grateful to be working for them." said *** **** ******* Night Supervisor. "They are blessed that they are married and are able to take off, but I have never heard of an employer making such sacrifices for their employees like this in my life. This is unprecedented." she said amazed.
The two employers are planning to take the years entire first quarter off, but may be back to work sooner than they think. Democratic Governor, Jim Doyle announced , by executive Order on Monday , the creation of the Wisconsin Office of Recovery and Reinvestment which is poised to save jobs and create new ones.
This Executive Order by the Wisconsin governor comes on the heals of the announcement and anticipation of the passing of President Barack Obamas American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which incidentally just passed in the House of Representatives. Governor Doyle met with the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on January 22, 2009 in Washington, D.C.
This diary is free of links and of the names of the heroic individuals of whom the diary is about for a reason. This company happens to be the company that I work for. The two employers are my managers and the job they are saving is MINE! I feel like one of the most blessed citizens in this country and I have never been more proud to live in the state of Wisconsin. From my employers to my state legislators who both happen to be Democrats .To my U.S. Representative who also happens to be a Democrat.
To my U.S. Senator whom you all know and love Sen. Russell D. Feingold. And to my Governor, Jim Doyle who I am not only proud of , but feel safe with as I watch him on line right now giving his State of the State Address sounding a lot like President Barack Obama. He's keeping it real and telling us the truth even the bad truth. There will be cuts, but not in the basic areas of Education , Law Enforcement and Health Care for Children so that's good. But, we may have to cut back on our Recreational Parks and stuff.
