Republicans are hoping to take over the third richest county in America because of poor turnout in this hastily-called special election. We need to get the Democratic vote out to stop them!
I hope any Democrats living in Fairfax County, Virginia are planning to turn out for the special election for County Chairman this Tuesday, February 3. This poorly-publicized election is to replace former Chairman and new Congressman Gerry Connelly. Our candidate is Sharon Bulova. She is strongly endorsed by Governor Tim Kaine.
The Republicans are hoping to sneak in a victory on this one with their candidate Pat Herrity because of poor turnout and lack of publicity. It would be a coup for them to take over Fairfax, one of the largest and most affluent counties in the nation, and one that has been trending increasingly Democratic in recent years. Fairfax is a large part of why Obama carried Virginia.
In-person absentee voting is available Saturday, Jan 31 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Fairfax County Office of Elections, located at 12000 Government Center Pkwy., Suite 323, Fairfax, VA . See the Fairfax County website for more details.
If you have any Democratic friends who live in Fairfax County, give them a call. Almost everyone I've mentioned this election to was unaware that it was happening, including some strong and active Democrats.
Tim Kaine will be holding a rally for Sharon Bulova:
