Most of you should just skip this all together.
Its just something I cringe about every year, at every superbowl. It's the "I want to thank the lord" part of the game. It seems harmless to most, but to me it's the religious recruting tool of the year. Not unlike the Rosebowl showing a nice hot Southern California day to millions of people freezing on the east coast, deciding on that day, to move to California.
Well, this Superbowl is different. It's the SUPER JESUS BOWL
Both Quarterbacks claim to know Jesus personally. Yup, just like the war's in the middle east, Both sides have god on their side. They can't lose. Remember their team mates had nothing to do with the game if they win. It's all Jesus.
Kurt Warner won his last game and never thanked his dad. He never thanked his mom. He never thanked his teammates. ( Not that I recall) He never thanked his coach. He did not thank anybody. He thanked the pretend god, Jesus. It made me sick. I was thinking you could at least thanked your pop warner coach. I happen to like Arizona. I hope they win today.
I like the idea of one of the older guys in the NFL having the spotlight.
I just don't want him to hijack the moment and create a religious recruiting experience out of the Superbowl. I know it's just the way it is, but to a non-believer it takes the everything I love about sports out of the game. With the Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger is another Jesus nut.
He too knows Jesus personally. Jesus won't let him down. Holy crap is all I have to say. Another big "I want to thank the lord" speech at the end of the game.
Here is the fun part. According to these guys, Jesus only really loves one of them. Since it's not their team that helped them win, or their coach, or the screaming their dad did when they were 13 at Pop Warner games, or their Mom how made sure he got to all of those games, or to his College coach, and so on, according to both of them, Jesus does not love one of them.
Hey, I just call's em as I see's em. I am not making this up.
You can't give credit for something good without taking the wrap for the bad can you? Only Mr. Bush can do that. Yes, we have not been attacked since 9-11 thank's only to Mr. Bush. (Snark yes, please)
So, today is the Super Jesus Bowl. Who does Jesus NOT love?
Does Jesus Not love Kurt Warner? or Does Jesus not love Ben Roethlisberger.
I would like to see the NFL commissioner remove religion and jewelry from all NFL games. I want sports to be just about sports.
