Greetings all,
CREDO Mobile is proud to announce the 50 nonprofits that we'll be funding in 2009 -- please have a look at the list below.
But first, a bit of background. CREDO Mobile is brought to you by Working Assets, a socially-active phone and credit card company based in San Francisco. Basically, the reason we're in business is to support the progressive movement and bring about social change. (Read more about our history here.)
One way we do that is by donating a percentage of every member's phone bill to nonprofits like those listed below. We also pride ourselves on being the greenest mobile phone company in America, and our in-house political team (which I'm a part of) does a lot of great work to directly achieve our progressive goals.
Without further ado, on to the list of progressive groups who are on our 2009 donations ballot (grouped by the five broad areas where we fund). After the list of groups you'll find some other notes about our work, including links to nominate a group for funding or vote on how to distribute our 2009 donations.
