There is a lively debate as to whether President Obama extended too much good will towards the Republicans. Call it Naivete, or call it "trying to change the tone in Washington". Whatever it is, it didn't work. They (repugs) screwed the pooch. In Rachel Maddow terms, "Bullpuckey". Obama may have made the error of actually believing that Republicans would fiiiiiinally start thinking about the people that they represent (other than the Limbaughs, OReillys and Hannitys of the world), but I think that we can officially and accurately assess that the majority of Republicans, well...they just stink. They stink worse than a tax cut ridden Stimulus package. They stink worse than a night with David Vitter. They stink worse than Ann Coulter on a good day. My God, I'm an Independent, and they just lost anything that was ever left of my trust. I can't quite get a firm grasp as to how I feel right now. Can I get some help? See below
Senator McCaskill, I absolutely am becoming one of your fiercest admirers: Thank you for standing up to the "idiots". Can you please extend your righteous indignation to the political elephants in Congress who continuously cry "tax cuts....we need more tax cuts!" My god.
Thank you.
Rachel Maddow?
And Paul Krugman, thank you for confirming just how stupid Morning Joe really is:
Part 1
Part 2
And finally, albeit sorta late, thank you President Obama. Please keep the fire running under the Republicans. I have plenty of accelerant if you need.
You know what Republicans, come to think of it. Don't come to the table at all. Don't come the table if all you ever have to offer is the pile of stink that you used to build and protect George Bush. Don't come to the table if you are providing us with empty glasses of hot air. At this point. I think you all can afford to go without a meal.
So I don't think that the running dialogue has to only be how much Obama may have lost with his message, but it can also be how much the Republicans have lost already. Sure, the Republicans can blanket the airwaves with their pundits and politicians. But they are forgetting one very important thing. WE VOTED FOR OBAMA. WE ARE ANGRY AND FRUSTERATED. People are losing their jobs, their healthcare and they sense of self worth. And you know what, you know that big elephant in the room. I say it's time to let it go outside...and take part in some great Alaskan aerial hunting (nothing against actual Elephants). If they think they can continue to play politics with our lives and our children's lives....well,
