Fresh on the heels of the new Gallup Poll.
CNN has just come with a Stimulus/Revovery/Obama Poll themselves.
And the numbers just keep rolling well for Obama, compared to the media onslaught, we've heard the past few weeks.
http://www.cnn.com/...
The bottom line is. People like President Obama. And when he's associated, with this bill (or anything else), people like it even more.
The GOP better beware!
Let's get to the poll!
In the CNN poll. Obama has a 76% approval rating; while only 23% dissaproved (remember how we heard panic from, the right and the left, when Obama's 80% approval rating slipped down, to a still high 67% with CNN?).
64% of American's of American's feel the stimulus, will help a little or a lot, comapred to 36% that won't, according to CNN below:
Sixty-four percent of those polled said the current bill being debated in the Senate would help the economy a lot or somewhat, while 36 percent felt that the package would not help the economy much or at all.
But despite this. CNN, still tried to cast a negative light on the numbers, by stating:
Sixty-four percent of those polled said the current bill being debated in the Senate would help the economy a lot or somewhat, while 36 percent felt that the package would not help the economy much or at all.
"The public may be lukewarm on the stimulus package because they only see limited benefits from it," Holland said. "Sixteen percent say it would help the economy a lot, but 48 percent foresee only some improvements if the bill passes."
I guess, the felt this way. Because they have another number, which says 54% support the stimulus (despite the above 64%, that says it would help a little or a lot). See it's all in the numbers, or the questions one can ask.
It seems, when you leave the Stimulus as a stand alone item. The public, probably doesn't know much about it, except what they heard (and that's why it has 54% to 38% support). But once Obama's name is attached to it. The numbers go up, because Obama's name is associated with it, and people trust him.
Mmmmmh! So a 50+% Stimulus approval, shoots up to 64%, when Obama is handling it, compared to the GOP. And when you compare President Obama's handling of the Stimulus/congressional process compared to the GOP, it goes up to 75% wow! Are the Republican's listening?
The new poll on the stimulus. Also fell on Party lines, in some areas; but not all.
Over 75% of Democrats support the new stimulus; 50%+ of Independents do; and on 32% of Republicans support it, in this new poll.
But what I think is the most important statistic of all, is this one(which is the same question that Gallup asked recently). The public doesn't like the GOP, and the way their handling the stimulus, regardless of how they personally feel about it. Here's CNN again:
The survey indicates, however, that Obama and the Democrats in Congress do have some advantages in this political battle over the stimulus. Three out of four poll respondents said that Obama is doing enough to cooperate with Republicans in Congress, but only 39 percent feel that congressional Republicans are cooperating enough with the president.
Six out of 10 approved of the way Democratic leaders in Congress are handling their jobs. But only 44 percent of those questioned approved of the way Republican leaders in Congress are performing. Overall, only 29 percent said they like the way Congress is handling its job, with 71 percent disapproving.
That's far below Obama's 76 percent approval rating, which is higher than other recent national surveys by other organizations.
Also; the next time you hear the cable networks, say the left is mad at Obama. Remember this number. 96% of Democrats support Obama.
The Bottom line, is Obama's not on the road to gain support for the stimulus (maybe more support). Obama is on the campaign, to bury Repubs in their own back yard (like Elkhart Indiana, Fort Meyers, Fla and now Peoria Illinois). I was pleased to hear Obama mention today in Indiana, that we wanted the cuts in Education, back! I was very pleased to hear that. And I don't think the American people, will stand for education cuts in this bill.
Go Obama!
