Here's an idea a friend e-mailed me for the next time President Obama does both a town hall and a press conference on the same day: put the town hall in prime time, and leave the press conference to the daylight hours.
It's got nothing to do with President Obama's performance in the press conference -- he's been solid, and then some.
It's that the questions in the press conference are dull compared to those in the town hall earlier today. And more than just being boring, these questions aren't nearly as relevant to daily life in America as the ones from real people earlier today.
And don't forget, unlike W., President Obama lets anybody with a question attend one of his town halls. He isn't afraid of the American public. Rather, he knows that he works for them.
