A few days ago I said in comments:
I think where my problem with him [Harry Reid] comes from is in that I really believe appearances in public have an impact on public perception of our leaders. I was 7 years old when Reagan was elected. I have never lived in a liberal era. I want to see boldness coming from the top. I want to see the petty diffusiveness coming from the republicans met with powerful rebuttals. I want the idea that government has no role in the lives of Americans outside of defense and security in the form of force to die. I believe Obama is this man, but I want to see Lieutenants flanked in the congressional houses standing tall and proud for these ideals. I want them to push these ideas back into main stream acceptance and bury the lies of the Reagan era in the graveyard of failed policies.

Today Charles Schumer and Bernie Sanders pushed hard and they pushed well and they did it with dignity and class. Schumer rattled the bejeebus out of poor Orrin Hatch who responded with blustering and unbalanced rhetoric seeded in stubborn ignorance for practicality.
I applaud and thank these two Senators and the efforts by all them to do something. I hope they will do more, but I am very proud today and I feel my beliefs stood on the floor and were represented honestly and with the force necessary to bend reason back into the national dialogue.
Honorable mention to Dick Durbin as well. Please take note Democrats, this is the tone, message and discipline you need to exercise to win this battle for the American people.
