I tend to believe that Conservatives, in this down time for their movement, will cling to the values of Freedom, Patriotism, families, and traditions, more so than ever before. The problem is, that those things that supposedly make up Conservative values, SHOULDN'T be confined to just Conservatives. There are many Liberals who adhere to those principles, but don't come across as simple-minded, irrational ninnies who don't have a clue of how the REAL world actually works.
So it didn't surprise me that the folks at the National Review would conjure up a ridiculous list of the Best Coservative Movies of the last 25 years. When I read the list, some made sense, the others absolutely didn't. Yet there's one constant that still remains: Conservatives tend to believe that Hollywood has and always will purposely produce films that will mock Conservative values. But it's Conservatives that suffer from historical impotence. Do they remember the time when you couldn't say the word pregnant on the television? Do they remember the time when it was prohibitied to see the wife and husband sleep together in the same bed? Do they remember the time when you couldn't say the word "higher" on TV? No, of course not.
Conservative resentment about the Sea Change that occurred in the late 1960's drives them to cling onto movies like Red Dawn, or even claim the rock song "Won't Get Fooled Again" as their anthem. This pathetic list shows that the modern-day Conservative movement will never embrace change, nor will they accept the fact that the counter-culture revolutions of the late 1960's brought about some good and even some adventurous film-making from Hollywood. But enough about that, I've said too much, here is the list and judge for yourself. Are Conservatives just plain dumb or crazy?

There are few things to say about this list:
One, is that Conservatives really love Harold Ramis and Mel Gibson.
Two, THEY REALLY LOVE Clint Eastwood.
Three, the last time I seen Groundhog Day was the year it came out and i will say this, I don't think it's a bad film, I just don't find it funny, but somebody please help me with this question. What there anything political about that film? Because from what I saw, there was nothing anything Conservative or Liberal about it.
Conservatives love Red Dawn. It's their Citizen Kane.
Batman is George W. Bush.
Claming United 93 as their own proves that Conservatives have no shame.
And finally, with the exception of a few great movies on this list, Conservatives have piss-poor taste when it comes to films.
