I, as have most people on this site, have been very dissapointed, but not surprised, by the way the "liberal" media has handled Pres Obama's first month in office and particularly the way they've covered the stimulus bill. Day after day we see rethug after rethug go on show after show and whine and outright lie about the stim bill. Well today Rick Sanchez wasn't having it with the Tennessee GOP hack congresswoman Marsha Blackburn.
http://www.youtube.com/...
Today she came on CNN and started spewing the same tired talking points about how they didn't get a seat at the table and that it is just a spending bill with no stimulus, etc, etc, etc at nausea. After her rant, Rick asked her if the GOP was swimming upstream on this because the polls show that the country favors the bill as he put the numbers up from CNN, Gallup, Pew, and CBS that all showed more that half of the country favoring the bill. Of course Marsha said no and started talking about the amount of debt we are putting on the backs of our kids and the same "generational theft" talking points that the GOP has been crying about.
Rick stopped her and asked her where she was during the past eight years when Bush, a republican, ran up debt and spent, spent, spent. Marsha tried to spin out of answering the question by saying that it was the past and let's focus on here and now but Rick didn't let her off of the hook as most of the msm has been doing with these idiots. He said that he went to her website and saw were she was complaining about parts of the bill and then asked her what happened to the $9 billion that came up missing in 2005 that was for the Iraq war and why wasn’t she a concerned fiscal conservative then, not in those exact words. The look on her face was priceless.
I don't understand why John King couldn't have just asked Rick to send him over some questions to ask John McCain yesterday during that love fest that was called an interview on his show Sunday. I don't always agree with Rick Sanchez but I give him a lot of credit for doing what 99.9% of his colleagues don't do when they are interviewing rethugs.
The funny thing is that I went to Marsha’s website and on her front page she talks about how she voted no to the bill and named items that she thought were bs in the bill and drew her own conclusion that this bill could cost $3 trillion in the end if some of the programs in it are made permanent (total bs). Then she added this little gem at the bottom of her statement:
"Blackburn continues to favor a timely, targeted, and temporary approach that focuses on reduced regulation, incentives for investment, and tax cuts. "
Maybe I’ve been dreaming for the past eight years but didn’t "reduced regulation" and "tax cuts" (for the rich) help get us into this mess? Also, how can "incentives for investments" help you if you don’t even have a job as is the case with over 7% of the country?
I don’t live in Marsha’s district but I would advise anyone who does to write her and ask her how will reduced regulation, incentives for investment and tax cuts stimulate the economy and get us out of this mess that she and Bush created. Her solutions to this mess help no one but the ones who already made millions over the past eight years and she and John McCain wonder why they didn’t get to co-author the recovery bill.
Kudos to Rick Sanchez for asking a republican the tough questions that the rest of the media are afraid to ask.

I guess Rick's fine work didn't go unnoticed by Wolf and his producers either. I just watched 3 hours of the Situation Room and I kept thinking I accidently turned it on Fix Noise.
- CNN bashed Obama for getting $11 billion worth of helicopters that he didn't order, nor has received, nor has even said if he's going to accept and they were ordered by Bush 4 years ago but of course CNN made it seem as if this was Obama's idea;
- CNN also bashed Obama for not "getting" more rethugs to sign on to the stim bill and made it seem as if he was to blame;
- They kept talking about the high speed rail "lie" that the rethugs are talking about. There is $8 billion in the bill for high speed rail but in no place in the bill does it earkmark 1 cent for a train from Cali to Vegas. CNN should do some research.
- They bashed him for a homeowner package that he hasn't even unveiled;
and
- For icing on the cake they ended the show by going out and getting opinions about Obama from ordinary people. You know, people outside the beltway, people from the county that gave the LOWEST % OF VOTES TO OBAMA IN THE ENTIRE NATION!!! WTF??? I was hot! So CNN brings in DC pundit after DC pundit in every day to talk about things that everyday Americans don't care about and the only two times they've gone out to the "people" its been this time and 2 weeks ago when republican John King went to Peoria, IL to interview people who didn't vote for Obama. Rick's fine work this afternoon was no match for Wolf and the rest of the CNN gang that followed.
****Update X 2****
If you watched the clip you also noticed that Rick pressed Marsha on whether or not she was a fiscal hawk only when it concerned dem bills and spending or if she was a hawk for both sides of the aisle. Of course she said both and made it seem as if she was a checks and balance for the Bush admin just as she plans to be for the Obama admin. Of course that was a flat out lie and I'm sure Rick already knew that. Revisionist history by the GOP strikes again. I guess they thought that all records of everything that the GOP did over the past eight years was burned on Bushes way out. These reps need to be held accountable and shouldn't be allowed to change history. Check out her voting record. Makes McCain's 90% Bush record look like chump change:
