Well it seem Illinois has a problem with Burris, now add Cao to the list of current tainted politicians. Is tainted an unfair word to describe Cao? First let me start from the beginning, Cao is a republican who beat William Jefferson a Dem because of all his scandals, however the problems faced the Winner Cao were the district is pro Obama, blue and majority African American. Cao had to prove he was an independent repub to get elected in that district again, so has Cao failed in his quest to be independent??? You betcha. http://www.cenlamedia.com/...
Cao decided to go against the wishes of the people of his district and vote no on the stimulus bill, a package desperately needed by his district for construction, schools, stronger leeves, better streets etc. Cao decided to vote against the people and vote party lines with the repubs. I had a feeling people would be pissed and i guess they were because now there is a recall effort against Cao. My family live in that district and this is no time to play stick it to President Obama while the district suffer.. When President Bush came to New Orleans we didn't care what was Bush party. The people then needed help and the people now need help. Just one day before the stimulus bill vote Cao said on TV down here he was going to vote for it, but Cao's repub buddies showed how weak he is and his words can never be trusted. I wished Cao luck being the voice of the district where i grew up(unlike the repubs when it came to President Obama), however in just over a month Cao proved to be a coward. New Orleans was devastated by hurricane Katrina and we need strong voices in congress not weak ones, so today started a recall effort to oust Cao.
Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao, the Vietnamese Republican who made a successful longshot bid for Congress in an overwhelmingly black and Democratic New Orleans district, is the subject of a recall petition filed by critics of his vote against President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package.
Rev. Aubry Wallace is the chairman of the recall effort. In a news release, he and Rev. Toris Young criticized Cao for twice voting against the stimulus bill, which Obama signed into law this week.
If we can't oust him hopefully Cao will be embarrassed and see the writing on the wall he won't be around for 2010. Cao had wanted to join the Black Caucus because he rep. a black district and he wanted to do all he could to help the district with much resources as he could. I thought it was an idea to give me pause and thought Cao was a good person, but i was wrong.. I'm now so glad Cao was turned down, he is a joke so take your bullshyt elsewhere Cao.
