CNN, I guess feeling like they were left out of the Rick Santelli media party decided to upgrade his rant by adding typical CNN "keeping them honest", "no bias, no bull" bull sh%t.
More after the jump.
I was watching AC360 this evening and of course CNN had to get in on the Rick Santelli party. They showed a clip of his rant, which is no big surprise and then a little bit of what Robert Gibbs said which was fair, but then started showing reactions to Obama's housing plan by "average Americans". They showed 3 or 4 comments posted on wingnut blogs like Newsday, which were typical wingnut comments (I guess no one on sites like DailyKos commented on this subject), then they spoke to a couple of "average Americans" who just happened to be republicans, or at least one was for sure. One guy in Orlando spouted off about how this housing plan is just typical democrat crap where they help people so they will vote for them in the next election. Wow! (Imagine that. Elected officials helping out people who don't have a trust fund that they can cash in at anytime. Shameful.) This guy almost sounded worse than Santelli, but he didn't have the Wall Street cheerleading squad behind him so I had to deduct some style points. What a segment. Santelli and a bunch of wingnut bloggers and a couple of thoughtless republicans. Not one comment from an "average American" on the other side.
Anyway, for some strange reason CNN can never ever find ANY democrats whenever they are going out and speaking to "everyday Americans". Last time I checked every tracking organization in the US has shown that there are far more democrats now than republicans so there has to be someone CNN can interview. For example, the other day Wolf showed an entire segment showcasing the county where Obama received the fewest votes in the entire country back in November and spoke to the residents to ask how Pres Obama was doing in their opinion. One old hack actually said that Bill and Hill Clinton would be making every decision for Pres Obama. Wow CNN, way to bring us some opinions from "average Americans". Next time just put Rush on. I also saw a piece were republican John King went to Peoria, IL to speak to...you guessed it, republicans to ask how Pres Obama was doing.
If you watched CNN doing the election then this is no surprise. Even during the primary for some reason CNN couldn't find one person what had or would vote for Obama outside of African Americans. I guess given the fact that Pres Obama received over 63 million votes, ACORN really did their job in making sure that Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck rocked the voted.
Also, outside of Rick Sanchez's fine work which I blogged about earlier in the week, CNN has been running hit piece after hit piece on democrats all week. Some of their top ones:
- The $8 billion for Harry Reid’s train that's not even in the stim bill
- Pres Obama's $11 billion worth of new helicopters that BUSH no bid contracted out to Lockheed Martin who doesn’t even build helicopters ordered 4 years ago and that Obama hasn't even commented on whether or not he would reject or accept them.
- Of course the same old Obama and democrats not working with republicans bs
- Pelosi, as Speaker of freaking House, using government plans to fly on official government business outside of the US.
- One of my favorites - AC and Joe Johns (with the help of the right leaning Taxpayers for Common Sense) actually complaining about how none of the money in the stim bill is being earmarked for pet projects (what happened to Reid's train?). They argued that since none of the money was earmarked, it could lead to politicians and people REQUESTING the money for projects. WTF?!?! That confused the hell out of me. I thought that’s how cleaning up the system is supposed to work?
- Obama not talking more about hope. Regardless of whether you think he is already doing it at the end of every speech, why is the media attacking him for not providing hope when all they do all day is beat the crap out of his plans and have people on who tell us that they are not going to work.
These are just a few, trust me, there was much more dem bashing this week. Anyway, CNN...Just keeping them honest with no bias no bull.
