During Alan Keyes' fact-free bizarre rant circulating around the internets, he says something that is truly worrisome (rough transcript):
(referring to the fake-Obama birth certificate story)
...neither do many of our military men, who are going to court to ask the question: "Do we have to obey a man who is not qualified under the Constitution?"
I don't know who these "many military men" are who he's referring to, but he should be brought up before Congress to answer this question. If he's advocating the idea, it seems to me as he may well be guilty of Sedition, as defined by U.S. Code Title 18 Part I Chapter 115 § 2388P:
(a) Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully makes or conveys false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the military or naval forces of the United States or to promote the success of its enemies; or
Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty, in the military or naval forces of the United States, or willfully obstructs the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the service or the United States, or attempts to do so—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
This screed by Keyes should be brought up to every right-winger and they should be asked to defend or denounce, as the media has done so often with those on the fringe on the left.
Whether this is treason or not I do not know, I guess it depends upon to whom he was referring and maybe whether or not we are legally "at war."
But regardless of the legality, Alan Keyes might be the most reprehensible of the rightwingers out there these days on many levels (and that's a pretty low bar to sink below), and he should be roundly condemned.
