David Shuster tussled with John Ziegler, a former radio talk show host/current Sarah Palin documentary filmmaker (Media Malpractice... How Obama Got Elected). That links you to the video.
My original post is over at The Political Carnival, where I go by GottaLaff, or "Laffy", but I had to share this with you, because I'm just. That. Giddy. I have a feeling you'll like this one:
I got my hands on a video of Ziegler's stint on a dating reality show.
John Ziegler, a former radio talk show host/current Sarah Palin documentary filmmaker (Media Malpractice... How Obama Got Elected) and prime dating material, was on "The New Dating Story" which aired last year on the Learning Channel. What a guy. I have an inside source or two that filled me in on what ended up on the cutting room floor.
Ziegler was set up with a liberal woman from Long Island. It almost goes without saying, he was put off... immediately.
He spent most of the date talking about himself, how he's a filmmaker/radio host. He apparently thought it would impress Ms. Long Island if he bragged about how he's been fired from several radio stations. Or as he put it, being "controversial". And by "controversial" he meant adding to the record Bush economy unemployment numbers. With traits like these, how could he lose?
He spent much of the date on his cell phone. Way to ingratiate yourself, John. My guess is that Ms. Long Island had surmised that, unfortunately, the cell was the most pronounced extension of his manhood, leaving little room for optimism. My words, not my sources'.
At dinner (where he talked with his mouth full at about 3:15), Ziegler opined about relationships. He believes marriage should have contracts that come up for renewal and review every few years. Isn't' he romantic?
Ms. Long Island was officially repulsed. She didn't even finish dinner, ending the date right there.
Normally, the show would end with the man taking the woman home, but not on this episode. She got up and left him at alone at the dinner table. What did Ziegler do? He smiled into the camera and got on his cell phone.
For anyone who cares, Ms. Long Island's beach date with Guy #2 went very well.
I've only included the segments that show her date with Ziegler:
