While working on my computer, I accidentally flipped a couple wires and started getting emails dated two years from now - After making a bet on the 2011 Super Bowl, I browsed thru some of the headlines and found this one intriguing -

Washington and the world was rocked today by the surprising news that President Barack Obama had, in his spare time, found a cure for most types of cancer afflicting Americans and patients around the world
Reactions were mixed. While most Democrats and Independents rejoiced over the news, many Republicans noted that as a federal employee, he used federal dollars to do it including his own paycheck. In addition, scholars from Republican funded think tanks pointed out that curing cancer is not a power granted by the Constitution to the president and that impeachment proceedings could be started.
The Senate Minority leadership today released this statement "What Barack Obama has done today will take away the incentive for all Americans to fight this terrible disease on their own. Instead of revving up their immune systems and fighting to the bitter end, they will be dependent on the Government to supply them the means to fight this terrible scourge of humanity. No one will have the incentive to avoid cancer anymore because Barack Obama's plan will bail them out. In addition, it takes away health care from the private sector to the public. We don't believe Americans, and by proxy, the Republican Party, will be best served by such a plan and we are disappointed he continues to speak bipartisanship while neglecting our ideas and methods."
On Fox News, anchors and pundits pointed out this would send other diseases like strokes and chronic respiratory higher up on the list of what causes the most fatalities. The headline under Brit Hume read as follows - "Stroke rises to #2 as leading cause of death in Obama Administration"
Privately, though, most Republicans admitted that if they were diagnosed with cancer, they would accept the cure rather than make a stand on principle against receiving it.
