Well, folks, if you read it in the crazy left-wing, librul media, you know it must be true. So I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to the almighty Politico, the Democratic era has already come crashing down. It was fun while it lasted, eh? I'll summarize the carnage below the jump.
As I write, the current headline reflects the unmitigated disaster that the Obama budget has already turned into. "Class Warfare Returns to Washington," writes Jeanne Cummings. And bang-howdy does she have a point. As a middle class guy trying to do the all the right things—save for a house, pay off student loans, think about retirement, etc—it is completely obvious to me that my best ally in these efforts are the rich. In fact, I stand under rich people whenever I see them hoping that their imported Italian suit pants have holes in them so that some of their money trickles down to me. I suppose now that they'll be paying a whopping two percent more in taxes, that stream of income will be permanently depleted, and we'll have to go back to being a meritocracy instead.
Thanks a lot Obama. I mean, I though all along that the policies of George W. Bush were akin to warfare on the middle class. But silly me, I forgot that the 95% of us who make under $250k in a year don't count. Besides, I did so well under the Bush economy (because the Dow is like golf, right? Lowest number wins?)
If you're not ready to run screaming from the Democratic party yet, hold on, it gets worse. The Shenanigans column rips Chris Matthews for calling out the use of the dimunitive term "Democrat Party." (I like to call their opposition the Re-pube-lickins').
Later, you'll see the particularly disturbing story by Andy Barr describing how the GOP actually won the stimulus debate. Silly me, I thought the Democrats did, what with the legislation being passed and the enormous public support and all, but when Mike Pence tells me that my party just got pwned, I know I'm living in fantasyland to think otherwise.
And worse yet, the major, major Democratic priority of reinstating the fairness doctring took a big hit when it failed by an 86-11 vote in the Senate. Personally, I didn't realize there were 86 Republicans in the Senate, but I'm sure no Democrat could possibly have voted against this.
Oh, and Mike Huckabee doesn't like MSNBC, and Joe the Plumber is stealing the show at CPAC. Run for your lives.
It's time to wake up from this fantasy that our center-right country might actually have put Democrats in charge on purpose, and realize that everybody just wishes they could've had more Bush/Cheney/Hastert, but the librul media helps rig elections so all those hardworking bankers have to suffer through years where they earn only a few mil a year. Darn!
