Last week a Kos member posted a diary that consisted primarily of re-spinning the wacky economic conspiracy theories of Overstodk.com's flaky CEO Patrick Byrnes. The diary garnered over 600 breathless comments of the "how could this be happening" genre, despite the fact that most of the respondents clearly had no concept of what they were talking about. I complained, but to no avail.
I was not the only one watching, as evidenced by today's Huffington Post story and a related story posted on Bill Wolfrum's Blog, and referenced at Gary-Weiss.com.
Watching DailyKos.com run a blog on Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne's hoity-toity theories about naked short selling of stock was almost as funny as watching MSNBC quote Martin Eisenstadt last year.
I don't know who posted the blog in question, but I will say that Overstock is well known for its sock puppetry, and I suspect this was an example.
And yes, I told you so.
