US Senate Candidate Dan Gelber (D-Miami) is living up to his promise of volunteering 100 Days of Service. By emphasizing volunteerism, Gelber carries on a long tradition paved by other FL-Dems such as Lawton Chiles and Bob Graham. But more importantly, Gelber embodies and encapsulates President Obama's Call to America.
Gelber began his campaign by restoring native plant habitat at Oleta River State Park.
Next, he spent a day at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
Most recently Gelber helped out at PET Ministry: The Gift of Mobility.
What strikes me most about Senator Dan Gelber is his VISION. He was one of the first super-delegates in Florida to support Barack Obamafor President. Gelber digs deep into social issuesand provides well-reasoned analysis. He's been blogging for quite awile, and nowadays he's Twittering updates on the current Florida Legislative Session.
Dan Gelber just might be Florida's First I-Candidate.
He's been picking up some pretty good endorsements. Steve Schale (Obama's Florida Lead Man) is running Gelber's Senate campaign. Things are picking up. It's going to be a great run.
Mel Martinez struck out. Jeb Bush took the balk. No GOP heavy-hitters have stepped up to the plate. Marco Rubio is sheepish. Charlie Crist is coy.
Florida 2010 looks like a prime opportunity to turn a Red Senate Seat Blue!
