Common Moorhen or 'Alae 'Ula, Galinula chloropus sandvicensis, Endemic Endangered. In Hawaiian mythology this bird was believed to have brought fire from the gods to the Hawaiian people.

Black-Crowned Night Heron (immature) Nycticorax nycticorax hoactli, Resident. I think these birds are almost everywhere.

Pacific Golden Plover or Kolea, Pluvialis fulva, Winter resident. I think this is a male that is just starting to get his breeding plumage.
