He has suffered for years with Parkinson's, emphysema, and congestive heart failure. Five years ago he was given 6 mos. to live
He has spent the last month in the hospital. He has oxygen therapy which is more sosphisticated than anything that will allow him to return home. He will not survive even the transport to return home to die. He has chosen his end.
If he is unable to return home by Easter he has requested all medical intervention to end. The family and his physician agree. He will be given morphine to fall asleep. His oxygen will be terminated. And he will pass peacefully into what afterlife there is.
I know this diary is brief. But it's important to note, that for us, however rare, even in this day and time, his wishes are respected and he can die with dignity. RIP
