House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) took some time off last night to see a Britany Spears concert. Now I don't besmirch a man his free time and generally operate on the "live and let live" principle, but Britany Spears? What possible excuse could he have for being at the show? Well, it's being reported he went at the request of a fundraiser; taking one for the team, I guess.
Frankly, it's hard to come to any other conclusion than Cantor is for sale. What self respecting adult male - conservative nontheless - would agree to go to a Britany Spears concert? The answer, of course, is he isn't self respecting and he'll compromise his values, good taste and his ears for the sake of money. And what does he do when caught? His office claims that another Senator was there as well, even though she denies it.
I have a million questions and think we need to get to the bottom of this. The first question, of course, is money so important that he'd agree to go to a Britany Spears concert, because I for one, who am generally reasonable on most things, would have to draw the line on this, irrespective of the benefit to be had. I know, there are going to be some of you that will say I'm close minded and Britany is a great artist, but before you say it, go and look in a mirror and watch yourself say "Britany Spears is a great artist." If you don't laugh or stop half way through, then I'm wrong and Mr. Cantor is cutting edge, but I think you'll come to my way of thinking and realize Mr. Cantor is for sale and will do just about anything for the cash.
