So, what's going on?
Is it possible that a North Asian state ostensibly run by a weirdo who kidnaps film directors so he can have them direct films for him has launched something in to the air?
Is it a bird?
Is it a man?
Is it something I might know if I looked at the recent diary list?
In other news, the Michigan State Spartans--the basketball team for my home state's third best college--have done my state proud. People in Detroit have been getting kicked in the gut for a long time, and they don't deserve it. And they certainly haven't earned it. People in the Detroit area pride themselves on working hard, earning respect, and being a team. Henry Ford may have been an SOB, but he did create one of the ultimate forms of production through teamwork. And tonight, the MSU Spartans won through teamwork. In the second half, they swarmed the Huskies, who were an excellent collection of players and were tough opponents, but who in the end didn't have 9 or 10 guys who were diving for balls, batting rebounds, waving their hands in their opponents' faces, and ultimately proving to be a better collective. Not a group of individuals, but a collective.
So, tonight, one state that claims to be a model of collectivization has launched a missile. But in another state, a collective of basketball players has brought some needed relief from the failures of capitalism and the collapse of the global auto industry, especially in the case of two of the American Big Three.
Thank you Spartans.
And thank you Kossacks who actually check the recent diary list before posting a diary.
Update [2009-4-5 0:28:36 by Dana Houle]: I was probably unfair to Wayne State University. Let's call MSU Michigan's fourth best university.
