Every weekday morning Erick Erickson, the big Kahuna at RedState chooses a handful of digital feces and flings it in the form of the "RedState Morning Briefing." This is a collection of what Erick really thinks his readers should read in case they missed it among all of the other Glenn-Beckian fear mongering and Palin worship on the site.
So, ruin your morning and join me for a summary of the RedState Morning Briefing.

President Obama: Are You or Are You Not Going to Normandy for the 65th Anniversary of D-Day?
During his incredibly successful [/snark] trip to Europe last week, President Obama rejected an invitation from French president Nicolas Sarkozy to visit Normandy, France — the site of the 1944 D-Day beach landing. The reason given by the Obama administration? They didn’t want to offend the Germans by having the U.S. president visit the site where over 4,400 allied soldiers died in the operation that made victory in Europe against the evil, inhuman Nazi German regime and its allies possible.
Yeah, those are the exact words that came out of Obama's mouth. [/snark]
I guess amidst all of the "Obama doesn't understand diplomacy" crap they somehow missed the fact that contemporary Germans are largely embarrassed by their WWII past and really don't like to be reminded of it. This is a time when unity with our allies is critical, and not a time to open old wounds. Of course, maybe Obama could have made up for it by honoring some Nazi soldiers by visiting their graves in Bitburg.
The French are saying that Obama will visit the site on the 65th Anniversary of the invasion, but Obama has not commented on it. Almost as many Americans have died in Iraq as died at Normandy, and it wouldn't bother me a bit if Obama honored them by cleaning up that mess first.
Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) Has No Problems With Repressive, Murderous Dictatorships
This is undoubtedly an article complaining about our cozy relationship with human rights nightmare, China? Turkmenistan, where we have troops stationed? Saudi Arabia?
NPR interviews Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) about the Congressional Black Caucus’s visit to Cuba.
Ah yes, Cuba, the most horrible place on earth! How could I forget?
Gates to Services: Shut Up and Back Obama’s Budget Cuts
During the war in Iraq, the Left made a cottage industry out of promoting anyone loosely connected with the Pentagon who might ever had had a qualm about the direction the Pentagon was taking. I can only hope they’ll be equally interested in this attempt to censor the brave public servants who might be willing to stand up against the President’s attempt to force adherence to the idea of the ‘unitary executive.’ After all, if career military officers happen to think the President is pursuing a course that recklessly endangers America and its interests, they want those brave souls to speak up about it, right?
Yes, and Gates has invited them to do so. Then, after the decisions made, he's insisted that they do their jobs and work with it. Meanwhile, in the Bush Administration, when someone dared point out that the Emperor had no clothes, they no longer had a job anymore. That's the difference, Erick.
The article also fails to mention that this year's Pentagon budget is $20 billion higher than last year's.
Detroit has 200k more voters than people over 18
There are over 200,000 more registered voters in Detroit than the census estimates that there are people over 18.
So, maybe the estimate is wrong? Oh, no, that can't be. If you look up "estimate" in the Wingnut Unabridged Dictionary, it says, "exact number."
Silly me.
