Greetings, puzzle solvers:
Like some of you, I'm a crossword puzzle enthusiast who loves sitting down to solve The New York Times puzzles. A few months ago I took up the hobby of constructing my own crossword puzzles, and I submitted my first puzzle to the NYT in January. While I've never been published in a news outlet before, cruciverbalism -- as it's sometimes called -- is still very enjoyable, if sometimes frustrating.
Recently, I received my first ever rejection letter from the NYT. Will Shortz, the puzzle editor and star of the movie Wordplay, wrote a short e-mail to me and said thanks but no thanks on my first effort. At least I got a small brush with celebrity!
Rather than get discouraged, I thought, why not build some of my own crossword puzzles for DKos? My goal is to create fun puzzles for Kossacks to solve on an intermittent basis for now, but maybe I'll turn it into a regular feature of mine.

As I don't have the capability of posting a Java application for web-solvers, you'll have to print this one out and solve by paper.
I do, however, have a few ground rules for any DKos crossword solvers:
CROSSWORD PUZZLE GROUND RULES:
- If you would like to ask for answers to certain entries, you may do so in the comments below. Please structure your queries by writing the entry in the subject line, followed by a question mark (i.e. "1-Across?" or "1-Down?")
- If you would like to give a hint, please put the word "HINT", followed by the entry name, in the subject line. Place your hint in the comment area.
- If you would like to give an answer, please put the word "SPOILER", followed by the entry name, in the subject line. Place your answer in the comment area. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANSWERS IN THE SUBJECT LINE.
PRINTING HELP:
Here's a quick guide for printing the puzzle in its full size. Click on the puzzle above, it'll take you to Photobucket. Then, roll over the Photobucket image with the mouse, and click on the Full Size tab above. Print it from Photobucket, or from Microsoft Word by right-clicking on the full-size image, hitting Copy Image, and pasting it to Word. Either way, the puzzle should be the proper size.
DIARIST'S NOTE:
The following puzzle was constructed by the diarist. Clues were gathered from www.xwordinfo.com and the diarist's own imagination. This puzzle may not be re-copied or re-transmitted without the diarist's permission.
And with that, enjoy!
