Actually, this guy tops my shit list. Actually, this guy IS my shit list. Oh man. Wayne Anthony Ross is worse than Blago, if you can believe it. Cenk Uygur has recently spewed some pointed words and funny commentary directed at Wayne. Allz I know iz that Mr. Ross, Sarah Palin's pick for Attorney General in Alaksa, needs to stop talking.
I wrote a diary the other day highlighting some truly outrageous things that Wayne has uttered. It's a lot of fun to read, the same way that shoving a pen through your eye is also fun. Let's just say that the dude makes Larry Summers look like a hardcore feminist.
Wayne Anthony Ross has outdone himself. He is presently going through confirmation hearings to become the AG for Alaska, as Jason Linkins at HuffPo reports. Of course, when going through confirmation hearings myself for Colorado's Chief Smartass position, I know to discuss how my male (potential) boss has a hot bod. Rep. Jay Ramras (a Republican, weirdly) questions Ross extensively and does a pretty decent job. The good stuff starts in the following interview at about 1:15:
Partial transcipt:
Ramras: She was wearing Arctic Cat, uhm, gear ... Arctic Cat leathers, and her husb ...
Ross: She was provocative. She looked very good in it, didn't she?
Ramras: Yes ... well, no, not to a lot of Alaskans, she didn't. To a lot of Alaskans, she looked like a walking billboard.
I'm now pounding my head on my desk. Will someone from Alaska PLEASE mount a campaign to make sure that Wayne Anthony Ross is not confirmed? Please?! PRETTY PLEASE?! As a feminist, I groan and weep and heave a heavy sigh.
This guy freaking me right the fuck out.

UPDATE:
akmk has a diary here regarding a big push to get Democrats elected to power in Juneau.
I highlighted in my diary the other day that Wayne Anthony Ross is also homophobic in the extreme, but I forgot that the guy is a complete racist as well. In particular, he has a problem with African and Native Americans. Nice.
But as pro-Palin forces attempted to push back against Ross’s critics, dozens of op-eds Ross authored during the 1980s and 1990s surfaced as key exhibits in the case against his confirmation. Among them is a 1993 piece entitled, "KKK ‘art’ project gets ‘A’ for courage," in which Ross cheered on a local college student who had offended an African-American classmate by creating a statue of a Klansman with a cross in one hand and a flag in the other. "It might have been fun to see [the African-American student] try to remove the display," Ross wrote. "Then she could have been arrested and her future as a student of the university could have been resolved through the university disciplinary proceedings."
For Alaskans wanting to take some action regarding Ross, and generally getting more Democrats elected to office in that state, please check out Mudflats, which seems to be the seminal blog for progressive Alaskans. The link is from today's post, entitled "Leather and Lima Beans", and includes some extremely stupid and patently unbelievable words from Mr. Ross.
Representative Lindsey Holmes asked Ross how he would view cases involving homosexuality, you know...him thinking they’re "degenerates" and all, and writing it in the Alaska Bar Newsletter.
Ross responded, "Let me give you an analogy. I hate lima beans. I’ve never liked lima beans. But if I was hired to represent the United Vegetable Growers would you ask me if I liked lima beans? No. If I disliked lima beans? No. Because my job is to represent the United Vegetable Growers."
