awesome, beautiful sunset after a day of storms ...

The sunset is always beautiful but especially so when there are clouds and the clouds are always beautiful but especially so after an intense storm. I was initially drawn outside by an unusually intense color and discovered that something really wonderful was happening.
Isn't this Universe beautiful?
Shouldn't we spend our time appreciating beautiful things?
The outside world is a lot bigger than everything that can fit inside a television or computer screen. There are millions of beautiful photographs on the internet of a million different beautiful places and yet the Universe's beauty isn't exhausted, nor could it ever become exhausted.
I've spent, essentially, the last twenty years looking upon the scene in these photographs. I watch the sunrise and the sunset in these trees. Day after day, week after week, year after year ... it is a perpetual reminder that there is a world separate and distinct from all the troubles of humankind, a beautiful world in a perpetual state of transformation filled with millions of species working together to keep the planet alive.
It is a world not filled with violence or strife or destruction.
Well ... it is a world not filled with violence or strife or destruction until the next major hurricane plows through this region. More than 80 years of good fortune have preserved Central Florida from the horrors inflicted upon other regions. I don't know how long this good luck will last but it cannot last forever.
During the daytime I watch the blue sky. At night I step outside and appreciate the stars.
This is just one little spot on this Earth and I know that no matter what direction I travel I can find beauty everywhere. North, South, East and West. A short trip or a long voyage will always lead to another spot filled with an inexhaustible supply of beauty.
The Earth is humankind's only home and there is no other. Love it or lose it.
