Bush DoJ:
"Hey, go break that car's window and jumpstart it."
Bush CIA: "Isn't that stealing?"
Bush DoJ "No. It's not."
Bush CIA "Oh. Good. Well, okay then. "

So, is our plan to follow Catch - 22, or to go full on Torquemanda?
So the CIA officials who implemented the program, under the auspices of the legal memos, are in the clear.
Okay. What about the people who drafted and approved the legal memos?
There is a thing that is illegal. One group of people writes an opinion stating the illegal thing is legal. Another group of people enacts the opinion stating that the illegal thing is ()legal. Surely both of these two things cannot be legal at the same time?
Otherwise we are saying the government has the right to just say "laws don't count, next ten minutes, no backsies" at any time-- in other words, otherwise we are saying there are no laws.

Did I, or any of you, actually torture anybody? No. Will I, or any of us, be held responsible for the illegal behavior that took place under our government in our names? Absolutely. In the eyes of the world we are all guilty through association. How can we clear our good names?
This is a serious question. I have been told that there is no consensus regarding prosecution to the Bush Administration among liberals and other Democrats. Is that true?

So I ask of you, my fellow Kossacks, what is the best reason why we should not prosecute Bush Co?
Before answering please read the quotes below.
Sandra Day O'Connor
"It is a measure of the framers' fear that a passing majority might find it expedient to compromise 4th Amendment values that these values were embodied in the Constitution itself."

Is this part of a bigger plan by Obama? I hope so. Part of me doesn't think so. I think the easy answer is to sweep it under the rug, and hope no one trips on the lump afterwards.
If that is the case, our laws mean nothing. That means that there ARE two sets of laws, one for the rich and powerful and one for the rest of us.
Change? How is taking the easy way out change?
Let's hope not.
I, for one, prefer to do things the hard way.

Cheers to Spain for having the guts to Investigate and Prosecute these bastards for their war crimes. I guess they have had experience with this sort of thing before.
We should show them we are right behind them.
Please don't let this be the model for American justice.
Now we learn that international law says that failing to Prosecute puts President Obama in violation of international law. I knew this day would come if we failed to act to bring the Bush Jr Administration to justice.
(Hat tip to jasperjohns for his diary titled President Obama Accused of Violating International Law)
Good. Hopefully this will light a fire under the Obama Administration. Justice must be done. If there is not equality under the law for all there is no equality and there is no law.
The shame will be ours and our children if the world does nothing
