Fred Barnes has a new article out today telling republican politicians that they should do all they can to defeat Obamacare. Which isn't surprising, other right wingers have wrote almost the samething along those lines. Because extreme right wingers know that any type mass health reform could be a death nail for the republican party. Why? Because its the right thing to do, and it isn't a right wing ideal or philosophy. Its deeply a democratic ideal. And the American public will see it that way.
And what really pisses me off is that the bastard tries to use Natasha Richardson's accidental death as a reason why to be against it.

It's worth noting how Canadian health care failed to save the life of actress Natasha Richardson after a recent ski accident. The nearby hospital had no scanning equipment or neurosurgeon, and there was no helicopter
to fly her to a trauma center. By the time she arrived at one, she was brain dead. Why wasn't proper treatment and equipment at hand? Government had decided not to pay for them.
Its utterly disgusting. Republicans and their token symbols. Wasn't it not a small town hospital close to where Richardson had her accident she was sent to first? I'm a resident of Jackson, Ms. We have 3 major hospitals, the University, Baptist, and Methodist. When it comes to life or death surgeries its usually one of the big boys, most notably the University hospital that get those patients. Because they're usually the ones use to doing that type of experimental surgery.
About 12 years ago my mother had a busted brain vessel, the cause of a severe stroke, and the University hospital saved her life. Because we didn't know what was wrong with her at first, the reason being she was only 37 years old at the time, and she seemed fairly healthy. I don't know all the details because I was about 10 at the time. But my aunt told me she was in surgery by that night. Thats how fasted they figured out what was wrong with her.
Most small town hospitals just don't have the equipment or the experienced men/women to do that type of thing. It doesn't have a damn thing to do Canada's overall healthcare system, but where and how Richardson got hurt. Most population centers will always have hospitals with better equipment and more experienced people. Thats just common sense. But thats why we need to make sure that healthcare reform happens. I'm sick of these morons using token symbols to justify their BS agenda, and craving for power. Yea as a democrat I know some type of movement on healthcare reform, even if it isn't something I'd prefer would be a huge death nail for right wingers. But healthcare should be a fken right, especially for people who work. And though I respect some of Senators Evan Bayh's and Nelson points on the budget and the overall deficit. The budget or decficit isn't going to the thing that cause dems some seats, not doing anything on healthcare will.
