Last week MPBN aired a five-person debate; which will provide Kossacks with a contextual glimpse, re: what type of wacky "testimony" we're up against today!
Our opposition is called The Maine Marriage Alliance; which is a conglobberation (actually, a nightmare) consisting of The Roman Catholic Diocese, hard-assed Baptists; and an assortment of "mutt"-type mongrel fundies (my apologies to slurring any woozles).
Here's hoping that Mainers (as well as our Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary's members) are truly listening (despite their own potential "belief systems" interfering with the ethics of treating all of Maine's citizenry with a sense of social justice).
Marriage in Maine between two heterosexuals is strictly civil in nature (clergy serving as officiants is only one option).
Over 26,667 Maine Notaries Public are presently commissioned (including yours truly); and we can easily accommodate.
