Kossacks, I've never before suggesting freeping any site that wants to publish garbage online, but I'm putting out an "all-hands" request for folks to go to the Greenville News' online edition and to let the editors know what you think of today's editorial, entitled "Document Release Endangers Nation." Here's a taste:
"President Barack Obama's release of documents that detail now-banned interrogation techniques authorized by the Bush administration, and his apparent openness to the possibility of prosecuting some who wrote the documents are ill-advised, and could put this nation in danger."
There have been plenty of opportunities for me to bitch privately with the editorial staff at the News about the low-brow nature of some of their pronouncements, and to give them some credit, they occasionally manage to find the right side of tax issues and educational policy.
But today is a bridge too far. The subscription in this household isn't in my name, or it would have been cancelled today.
So please, if you have the opportunity, this is one of those societal moments where the folks who write this kind of editorial garbage need as many people as can be recruited to head to
http://www.greenvilleonline.com/...
and to help the editors, through the comments section, to understand that they live and work in a wide world, most of which finds their thesis for today to be disgusting. I'll admit I haven't been that well-mannered in the couple of posts I've made in their post thread, but unless this is your daily paper, you haven't been through this like I've been through this. I'm entitled :-)
