Hello, everybody and welcome to another installment of Labor Diary Rescue. Apologies on not having posted last Monday. I’ve been getting hit on all sides where I work and haven’t had a single day off this week. My paycheck better be huge.
You guys know the drill. Diaries are below the fold and if you want to be on the LDR you must have a pro-union diary with less than 100 comments that didn’t make the rec list or any other diary rescue. It must also have the word "union" in the tag line. If you want to read more labor diaries, please subscribe to this and the authors, many of whom are regular contributors when it comes to labor issues.
TomP shows that just because the politician is a Democrat doesn’t mean that they’re pro-union in Thomas Frank: "Some Democrats only care about labor's money."
Seth Pierce writes about Harvard students doing the right thing in Harvard Students Fight Layoffs (W/ VIDEO).
The always wonderful Bendygirl graces us with a new piece defending the teachers’ unions in Giving a Voice to Schools.
Laura at Working America asks for our help in Help Us Build a Manual for Unemployed Workers.
Seth D shows that it’s just another day for the Republicon party in PA-Sen: Specter Staff Threaten to Trash Letters in Support of Employee Free Choice.
Try democracy gives an argument against the “high wages=less jobs” myth in Economic reasons to disregard human rights.
Rjones2818 talks about what the banks call “the Starbucks problem” in Standing up to Starbucks.
One of my new favorite writers, Muskegon Critic, tells it like it is in The Thing About Unions.
Treat the comments as an open thread. Enjoy the diaries.
