Thank you, thank you, thank you.
And I've never thanks Premiere Radio Networks, the ClearChannel arm that gives you (well, probably not you, you visit this site) Rush Limbaugh. This is a first.
More after the jump.
Radio Ink magazine has the press release & this is the complete text:
Premiere Radio Networks adds The Randi Rhodes Show to its lineup of nationally syndicated shows, beginning May 11. The show will broadcast live from Washington, DC, and early affiliates will include KTLK/Los Angeles, KKGN/San Francisco, and KPOJ/Portland, OR.
"Randi has carved a niche in talk radio with her straight-forward approach, intelligence, wit, and fact-driven content -- qualities that attract audiences," said Premiere EVP/Affiliate Marketing Julie Talbott. "We can't wait to deliver The Randi Rhodes Show to stations nationwide."
Rhodes said, "Right now, America needs a voice that reflects its hopes and concerns. It will be my privilege and pleasure to provide vital information to the public about everything that is possible in the 21st century, and also have a few laughs along the way. Premiere is an incredible family of radio pros, and is truly the most talented and experienced radio syndicator in the nation. I'm exited about this decision and Premiere's enthusiasm for this partnership. It's truly a dream come true."
Call your progressive talk station in your town and tell them that centrist & serial Congressional candidate (who lost to Obama in the 2004 IL senate race) Nancy Skinner, that has been on many stations in Randi's stead during her Nova M problems is just not cutting it for you.
Skinner actually talked the other day about Olbermann and Janeane Garofalo being so over the top, her words, on their tea party coverage and the very apparent racism displayed during those events. Did she not bother to watch the coverage or even look at the pics? The posters that the teabaggers were carrying?
Or was she trying to placate other centrists so that she could run for another Senate or House seat she wouldn't get. First Illinois, then Michigan? Carpetbagger much?
(And yes, I said the same thing about Hillary when she ran for the NY US Senate seat.)
And then, she asked a caller the other day if he wanted prosecutions of the CIA torturers or did he want health care, as if our government couldn't possibly give us both.
She just sucked!

So great to have Randi back on the air. I'm kvelling for you, Randi!
