OK, we know most of the truth now about how/why we started the IRAQ war. Now is the time for the media, not the pundits, to ask Dick Cheney direct questions about his role in approving torture and the cover up that lasted for 8 years.

Join me below for the 4 questions real journalists with balls should ask Dick Cheney the next time they allow him on their respective networks.

For the last three months, network media have allowed Dick Cheney to smugley criticize President Obama without challenge. Responsible network media would be complicit if they give him another platform without asking him the following questions about Iraq and Torture.

  1. Did Saddam Hussein have anything to do with the events on September 11? If yes, what evidence do you have? If not, why did you support going to war against Iraq?
  1. Several military and medical officials working in the Bush Administration have now come forward with information that they were being pressured to use torture to draw a connection between Iraq and September 11 when none existed. Are these officials lying? If yes, again, what evidence do you have that there was a connection between Iraq and September 11? If no, how do you explain going to war with Iraq?
  1. Several Bush administration officials recently have written or said that they advised the Bush Administration that the tactics being described to interrogate captured alleged terrorists would amount to torture.  Were you aware of the opposing views? If yes, did you not believe the tactics to be torture?  If no, what questions did you ask about the legality of the planned enhanced techniques?
  1.  You and other Bush Administration officials claimed that you received information from a tortured alleged terrorist who had knowledge of a plot to strike a building in Los Angeles. Since those claims were made by you, it has been discovered that there was no connection between information you received from KSM and a planned attack in Los Angeles.  There is even video of Former President Bush speaking about events that contradict the claims made by Karl Rove and by you. How do you square this up with reality and the facts?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
