The Coleman-Franken recount state machinery is gearing up. Both sides are lining up lawyers for each of the 100+ recount sites (87 counties + multiple sites in larger cities.)
Secretary of State is Mark Ritchie, a Democrat elected in 2006. He's taking heat from the usual suspects (the Kathleen Harris/ Ken Blackwell branch of American politics) but seems to be doing everything possible to be even-handed. The Coleman camp is miffed by this while the Frankenites (now there's a moniker!) are mostly keeping a Zen-like quiet.
With those carefully chosen words, our intrepid Kossack WineRev began a series of diaries that continues to this day. The first version made it to the rec list, but it would be eight days until another one got that distinction - eventually, the recount diaries became a regular feature on the rec list, like yesterday's diary: V139.0!!
Now these diaries are being put into book form with the title "Recounting Minnesota: Blogging the Al Franken Election Saga", complete with user comments from the series...
I was happy to find my handle among the recommenders of that first diary, but it appears that I didn't start to comment in them myself until late in January, when I began to push for donations to my ActBlue page to keep the Franken legal team funded. Since that time, I've commented in the diaries almost as often as they've appeared, and I've raised almost $2,000 to help pay for the legal team that's been winning the decisions in court. Yay, us!!
The book is filled with all of the snark and all of the seriousness of the recount battle, written as it happened by WineRev and the faithful band of Kossacks who commented and pushed the diaries up the rec list day in and day out. From the retelling of Casablanca to the first time the word "winerev" was used as a verb, these diaries are a slice of DailyKos life from a time none of us will ever forget - and with a foreword from Markos himself, this is a book you don't want to miss! You can get a copy here at the special pre-order price of $16.95:

Order by June 20 and you'll be listed in the book as a supporter - order by July 31 and you'll get a copy signed by the author! Please recommend this diary, we'd like to get wide exposure for this effort - and if you have a few extra dollars to spare, please consider sending something to the Franken team at my ActBlue page:
